One more picture

Found this picture of the Bella Coola road we used to travel on. It was actually this bad in those days. now they have it widened and not too too scarry now......

ROADSIDE FLOWERS

I made a trip to Terrace yesterday, the roadside was so beautiful with flowers and trees I decided to take a few pictures with my SMALL camera!!!! Hope you can get a glimpse of the beauty here.......
Lacy gigantic ferns graced the sides of the road all the way.....
USK tiny church and there is a ferry that goes across the river......Click

i stopped at a antique shop and found this. $150.00, althought this is not a flower! in a sense it is, as we used to use one as kids at home in the old days with two metal tubs filled with rinse water. I remember getting my hand caught in the wringers but fortunately mom was close by and unlocked the wringers. There were enough towels in the wringer to create a space.

A land slide where the whole side of the mountain was washed away by a small creek running thru the bottom. A tradgedy occurred with two in a car. A memorial was set up for them. these pictures were unable to cast the vastness of the slide.

Skeena River and a creek coming into it.....
Field of mixed flowers.....

These were the prettiest purple blue flowers you ever saw, my close up didn't turn out but hopefully you can click on the picture to see.....
Indian Paint Brushes and not pictured are Skunk Cabbages everywhere....

These are not wild but do grow in my garden and are the salad material i am going to have for the next two days!!! Mixture of Kale, parsley, spinache and lambs quarters. Then I will squeeze a fresh lime, put in some sliced oranges and strawberries and sprinkle some sunflower seeds and there you have a wonderful fully balanced meal.
this is Betty house and always she has a sheet or a blanket out on the line......just like home!!!
Here is a knarled old tree that is ancient and broken and twisted but looks very elegant among the willows and lilacs.....
That is it for the ride, am home again and back to the routine of unpacking groceries and things. I bought a pink towel with white polka dots for when my granddaughters come because we all like pink.....

My time in the Ditch!!!

WELL! the day started at 5:30 this morning as i had to go to Smithers for work which is about an hour away when you go 90kmh to save on gas. Up to $1.43 now. So I left the house at 7:00am and this is what i saw again---SNOW on top of the mountain again. It is there! beautiful sight. I can never get over the beauty of these mountains!
Foggy down by the river. The road follows the river all the way to Smithers and the sun is trying to shine thru all that stuff. Nice.
A very long day at the office. We start at eight and work straight thru till 4:00. But today we had some difficult cases and worked till six. Overtime pay of course! I was eating supper- an egg sandwich from Tim Hortons and it was the messiest egg sandwich i ever ate as i was driving the thought crossed my mind-its a good thing no one was looking. HUH! I glanced down and next thing i know i looked up and there i was -too close to the ditch. Tried to get out of the rut, got caught in the gravel, over steered and lost control. slammed on the brakes- which someone says you shouldn't do!!! turned a full circle the other way. Clouds of dirt everwhere. For a minute it had me wondering which direction i was facing. I am so thankful no cars were around or that i had veered into the other lane or something. This was the most exciting road stop I have ever been in because the first cop car came up , then another one. Behind that came the ambulance with the ladies getting out of the vehicle and stretching on their blue gloves!!!, Then the fire truck with five of the best good looking guys you ever saw came out of that small truck!! (cops were good looking too and nice) And then the tow truck came and cops were directing traffic--sheesh! It must have been rush hour the way the vehicles were coming and it is usually not that busy. There were many people who stopped and asked if I was okay! One real nice young girl, 21 yrs, who works at toyota, stopped and graciously offered the use of her cell phone and stayed with me until my daughter came. That is her in the pink. So with all these people around we asked if our pictures could be taken. and there we are.

It was worth the $80 dollar tow truck fee to get the picture with the firemen!! Someone had reported it as a roll over that is why every vehicle was supposed to come and be there. Turned out to be a big party anyway, they all had a big laugh and i did not get hurt, or a ticket and my car is still good.
I went home with Clarisa, saw the grandkids, Here is Rhys, all redheaded and smiles. He is so cute!!!

And I am not shaking anymore

This is the happenings for today......

Another thing i did today, found the recipe while browsing over the web and changed the original a bit. Raw Raspberry Cheesecake. It is so good. and yummy. i just put it in a bowl but if you want to serve guests or have a crust here it is.....Cheesecake

my version----I just dumped a bunch of frozen raspberries, maple syrup, coconut cream(use the Thai Kitchen milk brand), 1/2 lemon and cashews- they should be soaked to get a creamier consistency. And you should use agave syrup but I couldn't get any..... of course! put everything in the blender!!

One more good thing to Drink is something called A Green Lantern, Click on the words and you will see. It is also a very yummy drink, except i left out the sugar which makes it still tasty.

SNOW ON THE MOUNTAIN AGAIN!!!! As long as it stays up there but it was pouring rain all afternoon and into the night.

HEBREWS

What a wonderful day we had. Longest day in the beginning of summer months and on the sabbath. We had a baby dedication where the pastor lifted the baby up high. He, the baby, just sat there and smiled at the audience, so cute!! Blessed service and clapping of hands in amens. Great potluck after church where we sang happy birthday to about four people!!!!

In our lesson study in church we talked about the effectiveness of the blood of Christ - like Paul says-even in my bonds i am happy in Christ . Though the rituals and ceremonies of the wilderness tabernacles were used as a teaching tool to the time of the cross, then we would need to come as more boldly to the throne to seek grace. Without His intercession and without Christ, I would give up on life and people and have no will. But with Him I have courage and hope and compassion and the power to forgive.

Praise God. I pray for you all that we will all find a place by His side someday.

Hebrews 7:25. Where He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 9:14. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

I'm Just A Sinner Saved By Grace

More Flowers

This is the Hawthorne tree that my kids got me for my birthday one year. Last year it had light pink flowers and this year it has bright red ones. As all the flowers this year, even in the wild, the colors are deeper. I think flowers like the cool weather.
I remember as a kid growing up in Bella Coola we lived in a small two bedroom house with three of us kids, I slept in the single bed and my two sister slept together in the double bed ( might i say with a log between them because they always faught as kids will do!!) Outside our bedroom window was this great Hawthorne tree with the beautiful triple petal rose like clusters. One day, i think because the tree was getting old, and and another reason because it was quite windy that day, it came crashing down on the house. We were so sad that it had to be cut down all the way.....

this little lonely flower, although not so little as they grow to four or five feet high, was growing by the road all by itself. They grow wild in the ditches by the road, I don't know the name of them but they sure are pretty. They stink!!! and are full of bugs so leave them outside!!!! the flower itself can grow about a foot across. Actually I found out that they are called Cow Parsnips --click here to find out more.
And everyone knows what these are---oriental poppies. I used to have a white one but i think it turned pink somehow----??????? Click on the link in the sidebar for Kellies Show and Tell. Visit the other blogs to see their pics. !!!!!
