Pink Saturday

Sorry Ladies about no post the other day, my computer just decided to give up the ghost and would not turn on, so I had to take it in and get it fixed wich won't be for another couple of weeks. I was having computer withdrawal symptoms immediately!!!!!!!! so i bought a brand new Acer laptop. This has taken me a few days to get used to it and to find my old web pages and remember email addresses. OH DEAR.....lots of work..............so here are a couple of pictures of my PINK Peace roses. it was so pretty and vividly pink.

this is what i was doing today.......canning pickles. they turn out excellent all the time and people seem to enjoy the flavor.

Bread and Butter Pickles

you will need four quarts of sliced pickling cukes, 6 large onions sliced, 4 red peppers thickly sliced, four garlic cloves for each quart, as in the picture above put in a large bowl, add 2/3 cup of pickling salt and spread with cracked ice. \note-- you can use green peppers also but i prefer the red ones.

After three or four hours, drain the eater off and repack into jars filling each with this brine and once again i like to use lemon juice but you can also use vinegar..........

3 cups of lemon juice, 4 cups of sugar, 2 tbsp mustard seed, 2 tsp each of tumeric and celery seed.

Make sure jars are hot and lids are heated and bath water is boiling, fill the jars and process for 5 to 7 minutes.

For the dill pickles simply put the cukes in the jar along with 2 stalks of dill, 3 to 4 garlic cloves and a chili slice (optional), and 1 tbsp pickling salt. Pour in a brine that has been made of two cups of lemon juice and 2 1/2cups of water. Process for 20 minutes from boiling point.

I am a Promise....

13. In whom you also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel on your salvation; in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with the holy Spirit of promise.....Ephesians 1:13

Always remember that whoever you are , we are sealed with the promise that the Lord will be with us and keep us and finish the work He has planned for each one that we might go to heaven and be with Him in peace and safety.
May the angel of mercy be with you all today.....

This and That

I was wondering what to show today and i guess i have almost run out of things! But here are some old records we used to play as kids , remember Sony James, Billy Vaughn and of course you all know Hank Snow. There are a few others like Living Strings, Jim Reeves, Del Woods who was my favorite.....What are yours?
And here is a cute kitty in a picture..............
and now a favorite recipe that sometimes i use apricots for too instead of pineapple, Old-Fashioned Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Melt 1/4 cup butter and /3 cup brown sugar in a cast iron skillet or other fry pan!, arrange 3 cans 8oz size of drained pineapple on top of the sugar mixture putting 1/3 cup pecans in the centers of the fruit.

Make your batter--1 cup unsifted white flour, 3/4 cup white sugar, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 11/4 cup shortening, 1/2 cup milk and egg. Mix all together and pour on top of pineapple. Bake in oven for 40-45 minutes. Turn upside down on a plate and serve warm with whipping cream....enjoy

Sabbath potluck....

Vegetarian Potluck---Salad and mashed potatos en route to the church and of course the chocolate with strawberries...... And here it all is, beans and salads and potatoes, olives,
one of the ladies made a huge meatless tortilla pie in the blue pan

another lady always with out fail makes a really good noodle dish, usually we have lots of bread but my friend was sick this time so couldn't make it, she always makes delicious bread, and I had forgotten to make baking powder biscuits, but it all turned out good. Everyone commented on how good the meal was so we must have gotten a good balance of everything. I am really sorry i forgot to take pictures of the dessert but there was ice cream, cake with whipped cream and apple pie and watermelon, fruit and nuts and chocolate with the strawberries.

that is my plate and someone made green tomatoe pickles. They were sooooo good.and that was left --pea pods!!!!! Heaven sent meal!!!I could tell you about the sermon also---a boy or should i say a man now coming back home as a family person and a minister told his life story. As a boy he had godly parents but as a youngster always felt tall and awkward and unloved As a young fellow he followed a group of his own age boys to a baptismal call . He did not tell anyone his deathly fear of water. He was only able to wash his face with a cloth he was that afraid. He would not let the minister immerse him and he fought thru panic and didn't immerse his head which made him feel terible over the deception he had to play in front of everyone that he was converted. Then thru a series of events eventually gave up of God but always knew in his heart he couldn't totally do that. He went to the bar scene and such things. One day he decided to find God and thru his own personal bible study he gave his heart to the God who gave him grace and on to finding a relationship with Him in writing his own songs, studying for the ministry to help others find God too.

Pink Saturday

click on the pink doll and you will find a host of others in pink!!!!
Here is the pink pen that goes along with the comb that i posted last week! When I sit at the computer my grand daughter usually sits on my knee and draws and this is her toy--the pink puppy!
Well! once again Friday has rolled around and the sabbath is here with the shopping, cooking, cleaning and everything else done. Guess what i did today???? I bought a four poster bed -from liquidation world--that will be a guest bed, and with it PINK towels and cloth. It is so soft and ready to use. I could send an invite to you all but you might have to phone ahead of time!!!!!! My eldest granddaughter inherited the desire for pink also, so these are for her when she comes. My mother gave her a dusty rose pink bedspread with all the shams and curtains and lace and such and she thought she was a princess!!!! Now i shall have to post a picture of my mother.......I made a vegetable pate today , I just love it, out of baked or boiled potatoe, yeast flakes, tiny carrot, onions or chives or leeks, sea salt, tomato paste , olive oil. Blend all that until it rolls around in the processor and eat next day or right away.

I tried to get it to look like the boughten stuff-TARTEX-in the can but so far it does not look the that but mine is just as good.

So for tomorrow I am having a huge salad, boiled potatoes with dill and vegan raw chocolate with strawberries. you will have to come back if you want to see the pictures. Its all for potluck after church so there might be other pics as well.

Have a happy Sabbath, and may the God, the Creator of the world give you peace and wisdom and strength to live in these last days of the world.
