This and That
I was wondering what to show today and i guess i have almost run out of things! But here are some old records we used to play as kids , remember Sony James, Billy Vaughn and of course you all know Hank Snow. There are a few others like Living Strings, Jim Reeves, Del Woods who was my favorite.....What are yours?
And here is a cute kitty in a picture..............
and now a favorite recipe that sometimes i use apricots for too instead of pineapple, Old-Fashioned Pineapple Upside-Down Cake
Melt 1/4 cup butter and /3 cup brown sugar in a cast iron skillet or other fry pan!, arrange 3 cans 8oz size of drained pineapple on top of the sugar mixture putting 1/3 cup pecans in the centers of the fruit.
Make your batter--1 cup unsifted white flour, 3/4 cup white sugar, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 11/4 cup shortening, 1/2 cup milk and egg. Mix all together and pour on top of pineapple. Bake in oven for 40-45 minutes. Turn upside down on a plate and serve warm with whipping cream....enjoy

We love the old favourites. We have made up a playlist. It is amazing how many of the good old favourites they have. If you check my blog, down on the side bar you will come to my playlist...there is a link to the main website where you can make up your own playlist....free as well!
Loved your Sky pictures.........no blue sky here. Just dark grey sky with rain....and it is a bank holiday weekend!
We have a lot of these old albums too. Hank Snow was my favorite singer when I was in high school in the early 1950s.
I love the music by Andre Rieu that was playing when I clicked on your blog. We have one of his DVDs. I love all of his music. Matter of fact, I think I love him. ha.
I have some of my old albums too. It seems like it would be a crime to get rid of them at this point! I love old recipes - one of my passions. It's just nice to hang on to some of the past!
Kathy
I have a bunch of the old 78's too. Kids don't even know what they were any more :o)
Susan
You have a nice variety of things. I use to listen to Bobby Sherman and Simon & Garfunkel with many in between!
Love pineapple upsidedown cake too.
I may have to make that cake;), I love the kitten in the cup, and my what a collection of albums you have-do you still have a working record player?
I think it's great that you hang on to your old albums. My mom bought the CD versions of some because she doesn't have a record player anymore. Kind of sad really. And thanks for the recipe! I love pineapple upside-down cake so I will try this recipe out.
I love the old favorites too. We don't have albums anymore and isn't it a shame. The kitty is precious.
Hugs, Jeanne
