Worms

Click on the picture below and join the ladies to see what the have done.......

or click on this Kelli's Show and Tell

I collected these little jars a year or two ago and just today filled them with poppyseeds and some with candied almonds. we are having a mini campmeeting at our church this weekend and am decorating the sanctuary with flowers and trees and with this charcoal drawing that I have put off finishing for a whole year.
then with matting i purchased at the craft store made these frames with a ribbon behind to put on the walls in between the windows. for such a worm as I

Alas! And did my Savior bleed?
And did my Sovereign die?
Would he devote that sacred head
For such a worm as I?
Was it for crimes that I have done,
He groaned upon the tree?

Amazing pity! grace unknown!
And love beyond degree!
But drops of grief can ne’er repay
The debt of love I owe:
Here, Lord, I give myself away, –‘
Tis all that I can do.
- At the Cross by Isaac Watts, 1885

Well!, who would ever think that I would want a worm, it's my birthday in a day, and my sister gave me worms because i asked for them. She grows them too. They make very good rich compost out of all your scraps.

I don't know as I would touch them but with gloved hands and a spoon-oh dear!---but they are pets besides my plants!!!! Here they have just arrived in an original package--I could be a kid just getting a new toy!!!

here they are, all alive and wiggling and snuggled together under a piece of damp paper..... here is their new home with more dirt, veggies and paper at the bottom.....
Some times I feel like a worm, in the dirt eating stuff nobody wants, and sometimes I fell good too --giving people around me rich things to think about and even some good things to eat ---

Isa 41:14 -
"Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you," says the Lord And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

the bible does not have too many positive things to say about a worm but in the case of this verse and the one where he taught Jonah a lesson. But look at this--how many good things come out of a worm in the end result!!!!.................

I'll skip commenting on the worms. ::laughing at myself:: But!------

I WILL comment on the charcoal art piece! I love to pencil sketch and paint pictures myself...and this one you did is just outstanding. It's great work!! Are you going to frame that one too? Wow, I'm totally impressed.

Mine is all about a project I did for fun this week, won't you stop by? Happy Weekend!!!

I have been collecting worms for my compost bin. Each time I find one I try and pick it up with gloved hand but the wiggling of that little muscle of a body gives me the creeps. I usually get them in with a stick though.

I like the jar collection and the charcoal drawing is lovely.

Hmmm... I think I'll stick to the Gummi kind! Ha Ha! I love how the hymn and the Scripture came to your mind! God has a way of teaching us object lessons using WORMS!

Beautiful charcoal picture!

Worms? They do have their place. Your sketch is wonderful! I must tell you I came just for the show and tell, but found myself reading all the old post. I am going to add you to my links I really enjoyed the read and I will be back! Have a great weekend!

I started a compost box for the first time this year and I must say that I am thoroughly enjoying it.

It's amazing seeing all of the scraps that would have otherwise have went into the garbage, be used to create something new.

I don't know if this is wierd but I enjoy the earthy smell that it gives off. I always open the box expecting to smell some offensive odor (like a trash can). But no...just good old earthy goodness.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

What a beautiful charcoal drawing!

Yes, even worms have their place in God's kingdom, and we often need to remember that's just how lowly we are. Yet He stoops to show us His love! Amazing!
