Mamabishop Fire or Blackberries
favorite things, thoughts on home, cozy memories
No matter what you call them-flapjacks, hotcakes, or pancakes, they are the quintessential breakfast food. Pancakes are a blank canvas that you can transform into a hundred different varieties of fried flour goodness. Chocolate chip pancakes, blueberry pancakes, banana nut pancakes-the sky’s the limit. This is one of my favorite pancake recipes. It produces pancakes that are hearty, nutty, and filling. And the buckwheat makes you feel like you’re eating something healthy.
Prep: 5 minutes Cook: 10 minutes
Makes 8 large, filling pancakes
Ingredients
3/4 cup buckwheat flour
3/4 cup unbleached white all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1.5 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped
1.5 cups buttermilk
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 eggs
Directions
1. Whisk together the dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet ingredients in another.
2. Mix the wet and dry ingredient together. It’s okay for the batter to be a little lumpy. Overmixing the batter will result in tough panackes.
3. Grease and heat up a skillet over medium heat. Drop 5 inch circles of pancake batter into the pan.
4. Wait for bubbles to emerge on the top of the pancakes and then flip them over.
Top with butter and real Vermont maple syrup.
Little darling of the snow,
Careless how the winds may blow,
Happy as a bird can be,
Singing, oh, so cheerily,
Chickadee-dee! Chickadee-dee!
When the skies are cold and gray,
When he trills his happiest lay,
Through the clouds he seems to see
Hidden things to you and me.
Chickadee-dee! chickadee-dee!
Very likely little birds
Have their thoughts too deep for word,
But we know, and all agree,
That the world would dreary be
Without birds, dear chickadee!
Serve them fresh and raw in salads, potent and alive in juice. These Caramelized Beets do the trick, and it doesn’t take many ingredients to get there. Use them scattered alongside mashed potatoes and seitan, or over your scrambled tofu, tossed into salads, or grains (beets and quinoa = heaven.) They’re crisp and sweet, with just a little tanginess to accentuate the flavors
2 lbs beets, peeled and sliced into 3/4 inch chunks
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar (plus extra for drizzling)
Preheat oven to 375 F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
On the baking sheet, too the beets with olive and salt, to coat. Place in the oven and bake for 50 minutes, tossing every 20 minutes. Drizzle on the balsamic, toss the beets to coat, and cook for 10 more minutes.
Serve warm and drizzle with extra balsamic to taste.
Glory to God in the highest
And peace to His people on earth
Lord God, Heavenly King, Almighty God and Father
We worship You
We give You thanks
We praise You for Your glory
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father
Lord God, Lamb of God
You take away the sins of the world
Lord, have mercy on us
You are seated at the right hand of the Father
Receive our prayer
For You alone are the Holy One
For You alone are the Lord
For You alone are the Most High
Jesus Christ
With the Holy Spirit
In the glory of God the Father
Amen
I then
shall live as one who's been forgiven.
I'll walk with joy to know my debts are paid.
I know my name is clear before my Father;
I am His child and I am not afraid.
So, greatly pardoned, I'll forgive my brother;
The law of love I gladly will obey.
I then shall live as one who's learned compassion.
I've been so loved, that I'll risk loving too.
I know how fear builds walls instead of bridges;
I'll dare to see another's point of view.
And when relationships demand commitment,
Then I'll be there to care and follow through.
Your Kingdom come around and through and in me;
Your power and glory, let them shine through me.
Your Hallowed Name, O may I bear with honor,
And may Your living Kingdom come in me.
The Bread of Life, O may I share with honor,
And may You feed a hungry world through me.

Oh, the longer the waiting, the sweeter the kiss
It's better my darling, I promise you this
The next time I hold you, I'm not letting go
Will you wait for me darling, I need to know
Well, you know I'm a sailor and tomorrow we sail
It's a hard way of living but I know it well
And if I surrender my life to the sea
You can marry another it's alright with me
Though we won't be together again 'til the spring
Just imagine the treasures I'll bring
Come lay with me, stay with me, soon I'll be gone
I will remember you all winter long
And when I return to the one that I miss
Oh, the longer the waiting, the sweeter the kiss
The sweeter the kiss
When the mornings are warm and the valleys are green
I'll come back from wherever I've been
Oh, the longer the waiting, the sweeter the kiss
It's better my darling, I promise you this
the next time I hold you, I'm not letting go
I will give up the ocean forever, I know
Forever I know
Oh, the longer the waiting, the sweeter the kiss
It's better my darling, I promise you this
the next time I hold you, I'm not letting go
I will give up the ocean forever, I know
Forever, I know
BEING DEEPLY
Loved by someone
GIVES YOU STRENGTH
Loving someone deeply
GIVES YOU COURAGE.
Love you.
Who could ever find the words
To describe the indescribable
Limited vocabulary falls
So short of depicting you, God
Yet I’m distracted, the things
Of this world threaten to pull me apart,
But in your mercy you hear
The cry on my heart
Only Jesus, only Jesus
Lord, I’m tired of all the rest
When my heart knows you are best
Only Jesus, only Jesus
A son of God and son of Man who
Came to destroy the work of sin
And its work in me was crushed when
You became the way for me
Help me surrender and stop pretending
That I can live on my own
I’ll find who I am wrapped p in you alone
Only Jesus only Jesus
Lord I’m tired of all the rest
When my heart knows you are best
Only Jesus
Come and change lord
Rearrange every part of me
Until you are all that can be seen
Come be seen in me
silent night holiest night
darkness flies, all is light
shepards hear he angel sing
hallelujah, hail the king
Jesus the savior is here
Jesus the savior is here
silent night holiest night
wondrous star lend thy light
with the angel let us sing
hallelujah to the king
Jesus the savior is here
Jesus the savior is here
silent night holiest night
guiding star, lend thy light
see the eastern magi bring
gifts and homage to their king
Jesus the savior is here
Jesus the savior is here
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy
and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the
Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13
